How to read the board

A Pokémon comparison that explains its math

A higher number is not automatically “better” in every row. This tool reserves winner-style highlighting for measurements with a declared direction, keeps descriptive facts neutral, and labels ties instead of breaking them arbitrarily.

01

Choose one to six

One Pokémon creates a readable reference column. Add more to compare, remove any pick, or move it left and right. The order is reused in the URL, CSV file, and Team Planner handoff.

02

Check the label, not only the color

Stats and BST mark the highest value. Hatch cycles mark the lowest value because fewer cycles means faster hatching. Height, weight, capture rate, happiness, and experience use precise labels such as tallest or easiest to catch.

03

Pick the game before reading moves

Learnsets change between releases. Select a version group, then open the move section to compare level-up, machine, Egg, tutor, and special methods for that specific era.

04

Carry the result forward

Copy a link for the exact ordered lineup, download a spreadsheet-friendly CSV, or transfer all six slots to the Pokémon Team Planner to choose moves, items, natures, Tera Types, and roles.

Leader rules

What counts as a leader?

HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, and Base Stat Total use the maximum. The derived “bulk” card uses HP + Defense + Special Defense and states that formula openly. When the leading value is shared, each matching Pokémon is marked as a tied leader.

Types, abilities, Egg Groups, gender ratios, evolution stages, colors, habitats, shapes, and growth rates are not ranked. They are shown as factual differences because the preferable choice depends on the team, format, opponent, and strategy.

Data boundaries

Forms and version-specific data

The search includes default species and supported alternate forms in the local dataset. Core values describe the selected form. Learnsets are generated from the same cached source data and loaded per selected Pokémon, keeping the initial page light.

A Pokémon absent from the chosen version can legitimately show no moves. That is different from a failed file: an empty version result says no recorded learnset, while a load error keeps the core table usable and offers a targeted Retry action.

FAQ

Pokémon comparison questions

How many Pokémon can I compare at once?

You can compare one to six distinct Pokémon. One Pokémon creates a useful baseline, while leader and tie labels appear when at least two are selected.

How are comparison leaders calculated?

Base stats and BST use the highest value. Hatch cycles use the lowest value because fewer cycles means faster hatching. Height, weight, capture rate, base experience, and base happiness use explicitly named labels rather than calling one Pokémon universally better.

Does the move list change by game version?

Yes. Choose a main-series version group from Red and Blue through Scarlet and Violet. Level-up, machine, Egg, tutor, and special methods are filtered to that selection.

What happens when two Pokémon tie?

Every Pokémon sharing the leading value receives a tied-leader label. The tool does not hide a tie or pick a winner arbitrarily.

Are my selected Pokémon uploaded to an account?

No account is required. The current draft is saved in browser local storage, and a share action places the normalized selection and game version in the URL.

Can I continue the comparison in Team Planner?

Yes. Open in Team Planner transfers the selected Pokémon in their current order into six planner slots, leaving moves, items, abilities, natures, and other competitive choices ready for you to edit.
