Choose one to six Pokémon
One Pokémon creates a readable reference column. Add more to compare Pokémon directly, remove any pick, or move it left and right. The exact order is preserved in the URL, CSV file, and Team Planner handoff.
Pokédex comparison laboratory
Compare Pokémon side by side across Generations 1 through 9. Analyze base stats, Base Stat Total (BST), height and weight dimensions, breeding egg groups, and version-specific learnsets with our free comparison tool.
Comparison board
Loading species, form, stat, breeding, evolution, and sprite data.
The local Pokémon dataset was unavailable.
Step 1
Search a name, form, or National Dex number. Order is preserved everywhere you share or export.
Add one Pokémon for a reference card, or add several to calculate leaders and ties.
Ready.
Current selection
Every card is calculated from the same values shown in the table.
Whether you are testing Gym Leader matchups, sizing up Mega Evolutions, or optimizing a competitive battle roster, our Pokémon Compare Tool helps you analyze base stats, height and weight dimensions, and version moves with mathematical precision.
Side-by-side facts
Highest base stats are highlighted. Other numeric rows use the label shown beside the metric.

How to read the board
A higher number is not automatically “better” in every row. When you compare Pokémon side-by-side on this board, our engine reserves winner-style highlighting for measurements with a declared direction, keeps descriptive facts neutral, and labels ties instead of breaking them arbitrarily.

Stats and BST mark the highest value. Hatch cycles mark the lowest value because fewer cycles means faster hatching. Height, weight, capture rate, happiness, and experience use precise labels such as tallest or easiest to catch.
Learnsets change between releases. Select a version group, then open the move section to compare Pokémon level-up, TM/HM, Egg, tutor, and special move methods for that specific era.
Copy a link for the exact ordered lineup, download a spreadsheet-friendly CSV, or transfer all six slots to the Pokémon Team Planner to choose moves, items, natures, Tera Types, and roles.
Leader rules
HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, and Base Stat Total use the maximum. The derived “bulk” card uses HP + Defense + Special Defense and states that formula openly. When the leading value is shared, each matching Pokémon is marked as a tied leader.
Types, abilities, Egg Groups, gender ratios, evolution stages, colors, habitats, shapes, and growth rates are not ranked. They are shown as factual differences because the preferable choice depends on the team, format, opponent, and strategy.
Data boundaries
The search includes default species and supported alternate forms in the local dataset across Generations 1 through 9. Core values describe the selected form. Learnsets are generated from the same cached source data and loaded per selected Pokémon, keeping the initial page light.
A Pokémon absent from the chosen version can legitimately show no moves. That is different from a failed file: an empty version result says no recorded learnset, while a load error keeps the core table usable and offers a targeted Retry action.
Breeding matchup
Planning an Egg Move chain or checking hatch speed? Our side-by-side comparison displays official Egg Groups (such as Field, Monster, Dragon, or Amorphous) and hatch counter cycles side by side. Trainers can verify compatible breeding partners without opening multiple Pokédex tabs.
Pairing compatible parents enables inheritance of signature egg moves, IV spreads, and hidden abilities before sending the finished lineup into our Breeding Calculator for probability analysis.
FAQ
You can compare one to six distinct Pokémon side by side. One Pokémon creates a baseline reference card, while comparative leader metrics and tie indicators automatically activate once two or more species are selected.
Yes, you can directly compare Pokémon height and weight dimensions side by side. The comparison table displays exact metric and imperial values, highlighting the tallest, shortest, heaviest, and lightest Pokémon in your lineup.
Base stats and Base Stat Total (BST) calculate leaders by the highest value. Hatch cycles calculate leaders by the lowest value because fewer cycles mean faster hatching. Physical size dimensions, capture rates, and happiness use explicit descriptive tags rather than subjective ranks.
Yes, move sets dynamically adapt to your selected game version. You can filter by version groups from Red and Blue through Scarlet and Violet to inspect level-up, TM/HM, Egg, tutor, and special moves accurately.
Every Pokémon sharing the highest stat receives a clear tied-leader badge. The comparison engine never hides ties or breaks them arbitrarily, ensuring transparent competitive evaluations.
Yes, clicking Open in Team Planner immediately exports your selected Pokémon lineup into six active builder slots. All species, order, and regional forms are preserved so you can configure competitive EV spreads, natures, and items.
Yes, your comparison draft is saved automatically in browser local storage with zero cloud tracking. You can generate a shareable URL containing your exact Pokémon roster and version configuration at any time.
Yes, you can download a complete CSV spreadsheet with one click. The exported file contains all base stats, BST, types, abilities, heights, weights, and breeding cycle numbers formatted for Excel or Google Sheets.
Defensive bulk is calculated using the formula: HP + Defense + Special Defense. The summary card highlights the overall bulkiest Pokémon in your current lineup to assist in identifying defensive anchors for competitive teams.
