A head-to-head picker feels simple, but an endless stream of random pairs has no natural stopping point and can show some Pokémon more often than others. This tournament starts with a known pool, divides it into batches of up to eight, and limits how many can survive each batch. Because the retention limit is lower than the batch size, every completed round has to shrink.
The result is still subjective. It captures what you chose during this run, not an objective statement about design quality, popularity, competitive strength, or base stats.
Quick Top 10 or Deep Top 24?
Quick Top 10 lets you keep at most two Pokémon from each batch. It is the better choice when you want a compact answer without reviewing a large pool for too long.
Deep Top 24 lets you keep up to three. That preserves more difficult choices and gives you a broader final list for character rosters, collections, art prompts, challenge teams, or later manual ranking.
The live setup estimate reports the first pool size, expected number of narrowing rounds, and approximate batch decisions before you commit.
Filters, seed, and reproducibility
You can start from all 1,025 default-form species or reduce the pool by first-partner species, Legendary status, Mythical status, one matching type, generation, or region. The first-partner preset uses the first-stage main-series partners and also includes Pikachu and Eevee.
The seed controls the shuffle. It does not change which Pokémon qualify for a filter; it changes their starting order. Sharing the same filter and seed gives another person the same candidate order while allowing their decisions to remain personal.
Use the Favorite Pokemon Picker filters as transparent candidate-pool rules, not hidden ranking signals. A Fire-type, Kanto, Starter, Legendary, or Mythical filter only changes which Pokémon enter the tournament; it never boosts a candidate or chooses a winner for you. For a second list, exclude saved favorites and choose another category instead of manually removing repeated names.
